Missing woman Krissie-Lee Sheridan found dead in car

Tragedy has struck a Queensland family after a woman missing since Wednesday was found dead in a heartbreaking discovery.

A Queensland woman who was reported missing after she didn’t make it to work has been found dead inside her car.

On Thursday police called for the public’s help to find Krissie-Lee Sheridan, 26.

She was driving a white 1995 Toyota Prado from Hervey Bay to Blackwater the day prior and didn’t arrive at her destination.

At the time, authorities said it was unknown what route she took but usually drove north on the Bruce Highway to Gracemere then headed west to Blackwater.

The victim was last in contact with her family when she left Urangan at about 10.30am on Wednesday.

They raised the alarm because it wasn’t in her character not to contact them.

Sadly, police found Ms Sheridan dead on Friday afternoon after she was involved in a single car crash near Gin Gin.

The woman was the only person in the car.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.

Ms Sheridan’s mother Shanyn Pedersen had been very active on social media, encouraging others to help find her daughter.

“How can you sleep when your baby is missing,” one post read.

She explained to her followers that her daughter left for work at about 10.30am on Wednesday and stopped at Torbanlea about an hour later.

“There is footage in Gin Gin of her in her car at 1.18pm,” Ms Pedersen wrote.

“She has not touched her email, Facebook or bank accounts since the 8th.

“This is very out of character. We are extremely concerned.

“Everyone in Gin Gin please report anything suspicious as this is the last place that has footage.”

Many well wishes left comments on the Facebook posts wishing the best for Ms Sheridan.

“Sending love and hope for her to be found very shocking to see hope use (sic) are holding up,” one person wrote.

“I’m so sorry you have to go through this … praying and thinking of you,” another posted.
