‘Completely unfair’: Claims US university prioritising trans swimmer over female athletes

Transgender swimmer Lia Thomas is being treated as “some special category of human being” at the cost of the women on the athletics team, says Save Women’s Sport Australasia’s Katherine Deves.

It comes as The New York Post reports an anonymous University of Pennsylvania swimmer has spoken out against transgender teammate Lia Thomas’ “ongoing dominance in the pool”, claiming she had little success before her transition.

“They go on about inclusion and kindness but it appears that including the girls and being kind to the girls isn’t even a factor,” Ms Deves told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“It is completely unfair.”
