A girl was rushed to hospital after she and her pet dog were mauled by two canines outside a Melbourne school.
Emergency services were called to Bellevue Dr in Berwick about 8am on Wednesday after a 12-year-old girl and her dog were attacked.
“A girl was taken to Casey Hospital in a stable condition with minor upper and lower body injuries,” a spokesperson for Ambulance Victoria told NCA NewsWire on Friday.
It is understood the two dogs responsible for the attack had escaped from a property, according to the Herald Sun.
Terrified parents and children witnessed the attack outside Berwick Fields Primary School and several tried to help.
The girl’s injured pet was also taken to hospital and needed an operation to treat injuries, the newspaper reported.
It is understood the City of Casey is investigating the incident and the two dogs have been seized.
